MISSING DOGS!

today our two four legged children Dawson and Daisy escaped from our back yard on Blouin Avenue. We have driven the area all day and have seen no sign of them. Please post their picture on your Web site and let everyone know to call 225-413-1935 or 225-413-4301 if they have any information.

Dawson is the male yellow lab, nearly 4 years old and almost 120 lbs. Daisy (female) yellow lab, 2 years old, about 60 lbs. They are very friendly and hopefully together.

We are desperate to find them, if you have any suggestions of further action we can take it would be greatly appreciated.

Tom needs a new home

Tom is for adoption. Tom's owner has recently lost two loved ones, is downsizing his living situation and would like to find a new home for Tom. Tom is an adult (approx 7 years), male, tabby with gold eyes. He’s neutered and has been declawed so would be better as an inside only (or mostly) pet. He is very sweet, gentle, easy going, and sociable with other cats. For more information please contact Susan: 47jolly@mail.com or (225) 329-4759.

Posting

MISSING ENZO: Lost in Jackson, Louisiana on July 27th on the grounds of the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health Systems' hospital grounds. He's a 50lb, neutered male basset hound/dachshund? mix. He's 4 years old. He was last seen wearing a blue collar and tags; and he is micro-chipped. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to find him, and I am not getting anywhere. There may have been some sightings within the last week, but it's so hard to know for sure if it was him!

As far as things I have tried so far: I have sent out automated phone calls to 10,000 people in and around Jackson, LA. I have posted large neon posters all over town offering a 1,000 dollar reward. I have handed out flyers. I have filed police reports. I have registered him missing with his micro-chip company, and posted him on every missing dog website I could find. I have had a dog tracker from Texas come to try to help me locate him, and her dog took through the woods behind a cemetery on the grounds of the hospital where he first went missing...but it lead to a fairly steep drop off. She believes he went over the edge. It was about 8-10 feet high with a fairly sleep incline. he wouldn't have died if he went over the edge, but he may have been stunned. Her dog did not smell any dead animals in the areas, and when we walked down to the bottom of the dropoff, her dog did not find his scent trail. So maybe he circled back? There have been sightings in town, but it not clear to me whether these were definitive sightings. A few have sounded very convincing, but his picture is posted at every store in town and on flyers and posters all over town. I had an ad in the Advocate and in the Watchman.

I have been searching for as much as possible, but the problem is that I live in New Orleans, and work dictates that I be there Wednesday through Friday. I set up two feeding stations, but it's hard to keep that consistent when I'm not there all the time. The town is losing interest in searching, but I'm convinced someone knows where he is. I just think that either they are waiting to see if I offer more money, or they don't realize he's missing. I didn't give flyers to every house, but I gave them to every person I have seen in town. I probably missed a fair number of the elderly or sick or otherwise hermit-like individuals. It's really scary though, because there's a dog fighting ring near Jackson. And since I'm new to Louisiana, I really don't know many people, so I have very limited help in the search process.
